A Faith That Does Justice
I developed messaging and a communications activity calendar for this start-up nonprofit. I also managed produced their e-newsletters, maintained their social media accounts and wrote their year-end appeal.
I updated Citizens Disability's brand voice and messaging to better connect with their target audience. I produced new marketing materials including a Welcome Kit, which significantly increased client retention.
Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC)
I supported outreach efforts to increase attendance for COSEBOC's 2018 National Conference in Boston by managing social media, producing e-newsletters, and connecting with local media and community leaders. I also provided on-site support.
I created a toolkit of materials for an announcement — including key messages, a press release, a letter, and e-mail and social media content — for EL Education schools to use in their communities nationwide.
Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS)
I plan and execute all communications activities in coordination with an international team to increase awareness of LEGS' trainings and resources among target countries.
Mass Insight Education (MIE)
I worked part-time on-site as a communications consultant for nearly 18 months, supporting a wide variety of activities including redesigning the MIE website, revamping the e-newsletter, supporting media relations, and creating print & digital content.
Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP)
I provided counsel to MMP on public relations and thought leadership, securing key media coverage for their news, events and advocacy efforts in Boston and communities across the Commonwealth to raise awareness and funds.
New England Innocence Project
Legal Services & Advocacy Nonprofit
I filled in for the Director of Development + Communications while she was on maternity leave. I handled PR and marketing for the organization's two annual events: Wrongful Conviction Day and Voices of the Innocent, as well as ongoing communications tasks.
I served Root Cause as their part-time senior manager of marketing and communications, overseeing the website design and social media, and creation of marketing materials to grow the organization's consulting practice.
I updated Second Chances messaging to more accurately capture the unique value they provide to the Somerville, Mass. community. I also performed a website and social media audit and made actionable recommendations.
For more than five years, I provided regular counsel to Shanthi Project's executive director and performed a wide variety of tasks including maintaining the website, producing e-newsletters, and writing the annual appeal and Annual Report.
Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center
Thompson Island was another long-standing client. Over the years, I provided ongoing public relations counsel, and secured key broadcast and print media coverage to raise awareness for their youth programs throughout Massachusetts.
I partnered with the Tomorrow's Air founders to conduct in-depth surveys of their members and advisors, as well as a communications audit, and provide enhanced messaging for their marketing materials.
The Tower Foundation
I initially was engaged by the Foundation to develop a content calendar and strategy, and later provided ongoing counsel on a variety of communications topics. I also wrote their 2018 and 2019 Annual Highlights.
The Wily Project
I conducted a three-month strategic engagement with this growing nonprofit: first, conducting an analysis of nearly 100 stakeholders, then creating a strategic messaging platform, and finally, providing a communications action plan focused on reaching new supporters.
The Women's Bar Association (WBA)
I worked part-time on-site to support the WBA's communications with members, including updating the website, producing regular e-newsletters and creating marketing materials for programs.
